Towing

I'm hoping I have not missed the answer to my question in any of the many threads on towing but here goes....
The max width is 2.50m and the max permissable weight (boat a& trailer) is determined by the tow vehicle? i.e: Land Cruiser / Patrol = 3.5t? I'm looking at an importedrig that weighs well under the 3.5t BUT the beam is 3m! Can I get away with simply displaying oversize signs on rear or do I need to go the whole hog, amber lights, permit, daylight hours only? It's not a long boat, (22ft) so do I just ignore and tow like it's 2.5m width

Thanks guys. Yes it's a cat
Thanks guys. Yes it's a cat and I will find out the exact beam measurement. I'm told it's the same as the 25ft model which I know is def 3m but will be asking manufacturer for an exact measurement. Good luck
I thought loads greater than 2.5m wide need a PERMIT when you tow it anywhere. The max width is 2.5m. If the trailer is 2.5m wide you are not alloweda load that projects over. I had a boat built that is the max allowable to be towed before you have to have signs etc. it is 2,5m wide.you can get more info on the Transport WA website.

2.5
2.5 to 3m signage front n rear, flags outside edges no beacon...3m plus signs, flags beacon .... Up to 3.5m then heading into pilot country...over 2.5m permit required...daylight travel restrictions plus restrictions with route travelled...been awhile but pretty sure still same...as suggested check wa transport web site ... Main roads...get it right keep your insurances intack..

Okay, I see this topic has been discussed in detail here: http://fishwrecked.com/forum/towing-oversized-us-boats I've found the permit application and suprisingly they do not enquire at all about the size of the trailer that you're requesting a permit for? The boat I'm looking at is probably 3m MAX but I think it's more like 2.7 - 2.8 and BMT with gear will be under 3 ton. It looks like a Class 1 oversize permit maybe what I'm looking for and I'm sure I can live with the restrictions![](http://fishwrecked.com/sites/all/libraries/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/wink_smile.gif)

Yep, as Rob H and Vinesh
Yep, as Rob H and Vinesh said, up to 2.7m you just need a permit ($50 for a 3 year permit) and signs front and back ($130), no flags, lights or anything else. You can tow anytime, but never on the freeway.
Over 2,7m is too hard......
