Friday snapper

So ended up going out today, conditions were actually really nice when the wind dropped. Heaps of fish on sounder but for some reason the bite was a bit quiet where we were. Tried a few spots. Got a rally nice fat snapper, fought like a beast, went 84cm and just shy of 7kg on my crummy little scales, so not sure how accurate. Picked up a 53 cm tailor by accident, unfortunately lost 2 big runs on floating mulies at sunset due to shitty gangs ( eyes weren't closed properly, normally make my own, but was in a rush, learnt my lesson to check next time!). Wings and frame for lunch tomorrow and will freeze the fillets.

heaps of whales about too!! All in all a beautiful day.

Nice fish mate

I got out early and picked up a 75cm pinky that went hard in 30m out from Bunno on Friday morning,  other than the pinky a small flathead and the always prized gurnard  were all I caught.

Was quiet bite down here too as the wind swung from NE throu to NW, got close to a glass off around 11:00 and came in from 30kms out at 20kn with a beer.

All fish caught on a bottom meat squid and mulie, sounder was lit up a times but drift after drift couldn't entice a bite, 70km round trip and 33l of fuel.
