Insurance Valuation

Hi all,

I've recently completed a refurb and repower of Leeder Cusomcraft so looking to increase the insurance from the purchase price which was well below current market val. Given these boats are not particularly common insurers want an independant valuation as they don;t have a listed valuation for them.

Has anyone done the same and have recommendations of providers of these valuations?  Also there seems to be 2 options, inspection or desktop, is there any reason to go with one over the other?

Appreciate any advice.

cheers

Mac

Hard to get a definitive valuation

Bluntly marine surveyors are NOT qualified in retail valuations.  Have you spoken to Luke Chivers to see if he can help or recommend someone who can

I'm still to get mine insured

I'm still to get mine insured since its refurb 2 years ago..bit shit on my behalf.

Club marine gave me a few options for a shipwright to complete a survey due to its age, both wanting $500 plus a 1 - 2 month wait at the time.

I've read Joondalup Boat shack does them at $300, he would be perfect to assist with a valuation also, think he was a sponsor on here way back, top bloke and a pleasure to deal with, sold my first boat through him at his yard.
