Footy 2026

Two weeks in and no thread so thought I'd start one.

With world war 3 happening I have to say footy is a welcome distraction and especially an Eagles win on the board.

I have a bet with a mate for an expensive bottle of red that the Eagles will win 4 or more games this year, on track imo with our new group of young lads lead by Murdock.

So good to see Yeo back on the track he brings the much needed leadership on field we need.

So a fantastic win yesterday for the  boys after a putrid/facepalming  first quarter, the umpiriing for both sides was atrocious.

My ladder prediction at the end of the year:

GCS

Hawks

Freo (struggled to write that)

Dogs

Crows

Swans

Cats

Lions (hungover)

Pies

Saints

Blues

Port

Roos

Mighty WC

GWS

Demons

Tigers

Bombers

Yeah it was a great game

Yeah it was a great game Andy! Rather than just have a win they played some bloody footy after the first quarter. Got challenged and answered the challenge to get the win. Some good signs there that we may finally not be the worst side in the comp. Murdock is a great story and hopefully he can keep it up. I tipped the Eagles and am putting $10 on them every week just to see how how that looks at the end of the season. Pity they didn't upset the Suns at $26!

I think th eCrows will finish lower that you have them Andy, and Port and the Saints will be higher. I agree that the Suns might have theri real breakout season this year. Just bloody good having footy back to distract from the lunacy of the Fanta fascist!

Sent my old boss a screenshot of the ladder, he is a Carlton supporter. Couldn't resist that after the crap I have copped over the last few years.

So good Andy! I'm not getting carried away but that was a good win on the road and it tells me we might finally be heading in the right direction. If they can keep having some success and build a really tight group it might help keep the youngsters together going forward. There is definitely some talent there and it would be a shame to lose that.

It also gives Fremantle a chance at getting some much needed finals experience.
