contact the building company

as polite as possible, suggest they should cover bill of detailing it? Take as many photos, details down etc.

That sucks, though i imagine high pressure wash will get most of it off, and a polish afterwards.

DISAPPOINTING!!!

Go postal on there butts!

Fri, 2016-07-01 09:44

AS the yanks say!

As said , photos , photos and more photos, followed by a call , ( no screaming at this stage) to the building

company , stating you intend to get a full quote for detailing, and with the right to contact them again if it leaves any permanent

marks.

I had a similar exper a while back , with a house built behind, they ripped out our phone line, cracked a rear retaining wall

by dropping a stack of bricks against it, and left black marks on our driveway , while turning around with machines etc.

There was a another few things like workers chucking rubbish over fence etc, so I was well over it.

I demanded all the major things fixed , which they were , after many abusive phone calls from me to some real ,

non fussed di**wits , whom didnt give sh** , were like talking to a brick wall.( cracked)

Good luck , dont take no for answer, and settle in for a fight , as they will start throwing bombs at you ,

such as , oh thats a contractor , how did you know it came from us etc etc .

 speak to your insurance

Fri, 2016-07-01 09:48

speak to your insurance company first, then approach the builders and say they can sort it by a professional (dont let the first year apprentice plasterer from the site "have a go " first)
But otherwise let your insurance handle it.
Have a look where else the cement has gone.

Dont let anyone but a professional detailer attack it

PS, might be able to get a Suzi or a Yam to replace the Etec which had "dried concrete all the way down the intake"

Get Advice

Fri, 2016-07-01 10:15

I reckon the advice to contact your insurance company is spot on.  Either that or get legal advice.  I wouldn't be cleaning it just yet until you get some advice and definitely wouldn't let the builders touch the boat.

I've had an issue where they splattered concrete all over our driveway.  The building company didn't give sh*t.  I just wanted them to clean it off.  Pretty much had to take them to court over what was just a high pressure clean (my little k'aarcher wasn't up to the job).

Really feel for you and hope it works out well.

mutha Phuckers!!

first call, ring your insurance company straight away.

take a fark load of photos. inform the builder, and let him have a look, but do not let him touch it AT ALL. get the builders details, ie: site supervisors name, concrete company's name, concretor's name, concrete company's name, etc, etc.

allow your insurance company's preferred repairer to make every single remedial. take no prisoners, and be ruthless with the re-inspection.

concrete contains lime (which WILL burn paint, etc), and is a chemical reaction between the cement and water, which when reacting, "grows" crystals, and will penetrate your cowling and fibreglass.

Fri, 2016-07-01 11:36

If they were happy to do that to your boat and not even tell you, I would suggest they won't be reasonable about taking responsibility for it.
I would go straight to my insurance broker and let them deal with the assholes that did this.
I cant believe so called tradesmen would be so reckless and just plain shit heads, they deserve everything they get.

That is just shit

Fri, 2016-07-01 11:54

Some people jsut have shit for brains and dont give two @#%@ about anything or other people. Wasnt even a little bit and over a small section.

My brothers duplex next door which was kind of attached to his house got knocked down and the builders pulled apart and dragged asbestos through their house and then proceeded to break it down into pieces on the front lawn which is highly illegal. Not to mention that they have a one year old boy and that asbestos particles covered their carpet, blinds the kids cot and toys plus the rest. Rang some lawyers and not even one wanted to help. Building company paid for replacement stuff, loss of income, having to move out of house for two weeks etc. Worksafe didnt even come out to inspect. The builders covered their tracks pretty quick sticks.

 Whatever you do, do it

Fri, 2016-07-01 12:01

Whatever you do, do it straight away.
On the building site will be a sign with the name of the builder and supervisor and a contact.

Ring it immediately and gauge their reaction.

As above Take photos and talk

Fri, 2016-07-01 12:47

As above

Take photos and talk to insurance.

I was driving past a building site a few years ago when the wind whipped up and threw a sheet of hardiflex against my brand new black car as the chippys hadn't weighed it down.

Called him, met him, and he got it in fixed the next week.

He may fix it, with a few choice words to the granno workers afterwards.

Ring the builder immediately,

Fri, 2016-07-01 13:20

That's a pretty average event. Grano workers probably didn't even realize, they would be pretty used to splatter. Ring the builder immediately, you may be pleasantly surprised. If not, let insurance take them apart.

What ever you decide to do do it quick

The longer that stuff sits on your hull the higher the risk of it doing some pretty nasty stuff to your boat.

 Builders these days dont

Fri, 2016-07-01 16:40

Builders these days dont give a shit. My neighbour's builder pinch my water though their tap is functioning cos they are too lazy to walk over the other side.

Then dump unwanted sand over my property when laying slabs. Broke the council tree in front of my hpuse when their bobcat flatten the ground.

After that their roof painter left paint splatter on my pavers and rendered wall. Mind you mine is a brand new house finished building 2 months ago!!

What a bunch of fuckwits!

Truck wash

Mon, 2016-07-04 06:17

Will come straight off. Then it will need polish. I gather they used pump with that much splatter. Builder will cover. Normally they would cover with plastic. Or hose straight off.( workers).

 As everyone has said above

Thu, 2016-07-07 16:59

As everyone has said above get onto the builder immediately and your insurance company.  The builder would not have paid the contractor yet and will back charge the contractor.  Remember no matter what the builder says, if the work is done under the head contract (ie through the builder and not directly with the owner) the builder is legally responsible.  The builder is obligated to repair at his cost all damage to your property and chase the contractor to recoup the cost (usually done by withholding money from the contractor.

Note that the builder or builders representative cannot come onto your property to do any works whatsoever without you signing a ba20a.

the local council and the building commission can be approached about this.  Make sure everything is in writing.  The builder will not want the grief and will not hesitate on holding money on the sub contractor.

You will be surprised how often shit like this happens

what the fark is wrong with people. Surely they would have noticed the spatter going everywhere and getting on your boat?. People just think what's the big deal, it's just a boat.. They would think differently if it was a $95,000 Mercedes or Jaguar parked in the drive way getting that crap all over it. farken arse hats.. rant over..
