Trout fishing WA
Hows it goin lads,
What is the situation around trout fisheries or possible options for fishing for trout in the WA region.
I can see from this post that the Harvey dam is the place to start, but as I am living up North of Joondalup, its hard to get to.
Any help on getting hooked into a few trout would be great.
Look forward to hearing back from ye all.
Thanks a million.

Trout Fishing in WA
It's not something you can just go out and do on a day trip unfortunatly. The best spots are located in the SW and there will be travel involved. I generally plan for the odd trip to specifically target Trout and Redfin. That involves overnight stays. The more time I have the further south I will venture. It's a great experience with the right planning. Alwats nice to get away and into the forest.

Ye, I am the same, I would
Ye, I am the same, I would not mind the travel sides of it at all,
I thaught there might of been a decent place to fish for trout up north. But as you say the best spots are in the SW.
I would love nothing more than a week or weekend away down there camping and fishing the prestine rivers or lakes.
Do you camp or stay over in hotel's? Where would you recommend to go for a weekend or week for to hit the redfin or the trout.?
Do you fly fish/lure or bait fish for the better results?
when is the trout and redfin season? Is there any particular time that it is not allowed?

thanks a mill for the heads up on that. I will need to research the life out of the Lake Navarino and brook dam. Havent seen or head much about them before.
Have you or do you fish it alot? I would not mind even catchin a few red fin for the sport.
Any reason for the adventure.. (",)

SW Dams
Did you bring any fly gear with you?
I know the area down there as well as I know the coast up here LOL. It's a chance to plan a day trip with a guide. It will be a long day however. The other aternative is to book in somewhere down there for a night or camp out. You are required to purchase a fresh water fishing license. You can do that on the net using the WA Fisheries web site. If you take the DSLR with you you will get some pretty special pics down that way.
