dispatching mackies

Hi All (and Rodrat)
anybody got any tips on the best way to dispatch mackies? I'm off to onslow next week and hope to bag at least one ( my first ) and want to treat it right. Rodrat need not reply LOL

Depending on how tired they
Depending on how tired they are(due to line class etc,etc.) they will usally go straight back after a quick spear back into the water as they are pretty strong fish. if that dont work take em home for a feed!lol.

Sorry mate i thought you ment putting them back!hehehehe. Bleed them straight away by cutting the neck or spike them which ever you prefer! Keep your hands away from there mouth though, i find the old foot on the neck hold does the job why you do whatever. The straight into the esky with ice and if the tail hangs out wrap a damp towl around it so it stays fresh. Them simply slab off the fillets into desiered size. That better.lol.

Dispatching
I think the best way is the good ol thumping stick. Few knocks on the head, then the iki jimi and then bleed. Ensures that all your fingers and toes remain in one piece if you want a photo.
