The orbit of the earth is 1 AU (150 million km) from the sun.
Closest venus gets is 0.3 AU and 4.5AU for jupiter. It can get more than a billion km away (6.7AU)

Just got the cam out as well. Got a few that look exactly like ferals so went out and put tripod head on an angle
