Yep
Its pretty hard driving up and down the coast every week/second week talking to people about fishing and what they've been catching. If it isn't down the coast then its at the local ramps. Only had a few smartasses since starting, but most people are really good and only to helpful.
The attitude of freezer filling is certainly a dying one, well, freezer filling to the state where you are only doing damage to your future fishing potential. Its a great thing to see, especially as an angler who cares for the environment, but still enjoys being able to go out there and catch a fish and keep some for down the line when theres no fishing on the cards.
Being able to help educate people about fish sizes, lengths, bags is a pretty rewarding thing for me. Especially seeing some locations people really don't have much of a clue, so hopefully we might be getting through to them. There really should be some information on catch care out there as well, boaties are pretty good, but I've seen some shore based catches where the fish are flyblown and are destined to make them sick. But they were also the smartasses I talked about, guess you get what you give. :)
