Rod for Daiwa Zillion?

Gday all
I just got back from a trip to Tokyo where I picked up a Daiwa Zillion 100H. Now I want to know what rod I should put it on. I'll be using 20lb braid, and the outfit will be used for casting lures to snags for barra etc. I want to be able to cast lightish lures like flatz rats etc. Of-the-rack recommendations please.
Cheers Ian

Have a look in my gallery
Have a look in my gallery mate i just brought a pfluger surpreme rod......very nice and a pleasure to use. 3 to 6kg and 7' in length. I run 20lb over mine no worries. Another good one is the Gloomis range or the T-curve tornament range is also nice but i find mine alittle stiff for the lighter lures. The new starlo tornameent rod called the max spin is a baitcatser rod (dont know why they called it that!) and that feels nice as well for the cheaper range of modells, they retail for around the $150 to $200 mark but i would go the surpreme if i had a choice. Ive got 2 mates that fish barra tornaments and they use the pfluger 3 to 6 and run 30lb over it! Very nice and you can pick them up for around the $450 mark. If strong enough to coast those fish out of snags yet light enough to fish with all day. i can cast 7gms to 30gms with ease on it.
PS: nice reel choice by the way!Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

Also very nice to use on
Also very nice to use on soft plastics in the larger modells for barra. Hope this helps.

I would certainly spend the
I would certainly spend the money on a nice rod for a reel of that class. I have mine on an old 6kg live fibre xxx7. I would buy a nicer rod but for the amount of use it gets the livey is pretty good. I run 20lb on it for Jacks and Barra and it has not let me down yet. I think they were about $225 but that was 5 years ago for the rod.

Ian the double handed butts
Ian the double handed butts are awsome. Great for that extended cast if needed (you can use two hands!) and also great for more leaveage, when fighting the fish the butt can slide straight under the arm or wrist for that little extra pressure if required. If anything the longer rod mates it easier to punch casts in hard and being that little longer it sort of balences the outfit out more IMO and shit they are light! Cast all day no worries. I was the same mate and all of my barra gear never went over 6" but i always had problems casting the very light lures into a wind.........now, its not a drama. What i have found that works for me is two keep the 6" setup for trolling as its easier to put more action into the shorter stiffer rod and use the 7' for snag casting. Mate if you want to have a play with a couple ive got give us a yell and have a play. Im sure youll love it.

Thanks for the offer Spess,
Thanks for the offer Spess, but I'm based in Hong Kong at the moment so I'll take a rain check. It's been a few years since I bought a baitcasting rod and I was surprised to see how long they all are now...not many around the 5'6" mark, which used to be the standard in Queensland.
