better options!

Yeh they work but they're more effective as a bloop and pause calm water popper, not my go to lure for tailor but!

Yeah Ryan i have found the same. I have been having some good success on the roosta 80's of late but you cant go past the Fat-r's and The new ritcher plugs! They also go hard :)

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

Na rickets! In the less choppy calmer waters they work a treat when used on a very slow bloop and pause retrieve, much the same as you would for bram, bass etc. When punch cast'd they fly :)

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

yeh heavy but!

The fat-R are about 65 grams and yeh on 6kg and lighter or soft rods in particular aren't good with the fat R and it's casting. I like the weight, you can bomb it out behind the reef breaks and run it flat out without it blowing out and if the school of salmon are further out the weighted end rockets out....especial with a faster tapper graphite rod!

For exactly that reason that ryan stated, no tailor popper tackle box should be without them! Extra casting power when needed and they sink well aslo great when the fish are holding a little deeper.

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

That rod is perfect for the job and is one of the combos i use for poppers and metals etc. You might be quite surprised how good it casts 60gms plus :) Sends them sailing!

Good news then :D My TD

Good news then :D My TD Tierra with the Sol 3000 bombs 40gram lures but i know i been really pushing it lately cos its optimum really is around 1 ounce max...

Still, this is why i got the new outfit..

Got a Capricorn 4500J for the 9'Shorespin, had my concerns about how far id be able to cast with it, whether it would be further than the Tierra, cos hahah i was casting pretty damn far with the tierra... always close to ~80-100m on a 7' rod.

But good then if it bombs some good sized poppers, i can finally cast the bigger ones without sacrificing distance and the life of my Tierra :D

Has a look at on of them Maria Pop Queens on the  net.  Looks a lot like a Hydro Tiger.  Is that so?

Also if so, how do they compare?

i havnt used a hydro tiger before, so i wouldnt be able to comment... theyre 40 grams, fairly good sized and have a really great finish on them.. a bit translucent and holographic.
