PB Mahi

After getting a major knot-up between two lines while trolling the reef with deep divers I knew that I should have cut off the first twenty metres of line on one of the reels. Well I didn't and less than and hour later it cost me a 100kg+ marlin - painful lesson in laziness..... The line snapped on strike and then to make things worse the marlin jumped at the back of the boat, slapping it's bill against the water trying to dislodge my $125 lure. About an hour later I nailed my PB Mahi at 23lbs but that marlin is going to haunt me, I just know it.

Pharrkkk! that's a cracker.
Pharrkkk! that's a cracker. Measured for record board? I know what it's like to lose a Marlin Soupster. Had one take my Yo zuri 100+kg's on a baby Okuma. totaly un prepared for it. Played for 45 mins before line breaking due to heat. Won't miss next time I'll use a 50 VSW elephant gun.

gotta be pissed and stoked
gotta be pissed and stoked at the same time. i think we all have been lazy at one stage and resulted in a lost big fish. At least you nailed a nice dollie after to help relieve the pain a bit. love the pic
