another angle

another angle

Well, here's another angle of a 50kg GT. I think this was the highlight of my 2008.
The low point must be Qantas losing my luggage. I just filled out an itemised form to claim for my loss - the total is $5675. I'm lucky I kept my reels and camera in my carry-on and rods in a friend's rod tube. I have little hope left though for my clothes, tools, lures, and everything else. My lure collection was extremely sentimental to me - I had been building it up over many years and some of the stuff is now no longer available or extremely hard to find.

It would be nice to be able to claim all of it back but I am doubtful - Qantas have a very very low liability limit. :(

Anyway, off to K.L. tomorrow - hopefully I can catch up with John there. Then Monday its a very long flight to London and my gateway into Europe.

Happy New Years!

Pity about the luggage. I have also had issues with Qantas and luggage. Not my favourite airline by a long way.

Bugger on the gear

Had it happen myself a couple of times....spent 5 days in Melbourne with what I was standing up in.....another was with a rod tube on a regional airline because" too much luggage by other people booked on" so left it in Broome!!! I was heading to Darwin, coming home via Adelaide so no chance to pick it up

Max Qantas pays is $500, but your travel insurance may pickup some of it as well.

Dont tell Qantas is you had insurance.....non of their business.....yell like hell and you may do better....mention strong sentimental value

Thanks John. Well, I'm happy

Sun, 2009-02-01 23:12

Thanks John.

Well, I'm happy to say after a month of waiting Qantas rings me up one morning and delivers my bag! I have a feeling it was sitting in a storeroom somewhere all this while but nevertheless I'm very glad.

Russ, I never used to like Hammerheads but I've discovered they have their place. I try and make sure no fish pinch my lures, and so far it has been touch wood on the boat!
