No good

Rock tamers are no good. Used them for a while and found stones flicked up to the back of the car, to the point where I almost smashed the back window on a trip. As above I use stone stompers now

Biggest issue is

Fri, 2024-02-02 08:18

Stopping stones bouncing of the front of the trailer/boat/caravan back onto the car.

Rock tamers only do this slightly. Stone stomper setup looks the way to go. Will also reduce damage to the chassis and if you have hydraulic brakes the brake lines.

Stop the bouncing rocks reduce damage.

Shade cloth

Have seen shade cloth used to stop stone damage, Fixed to the trailer and using bungy cords on the car end so that any stones that fly up hit the cloth and fall back down.
