Mindarie Night Fish - expedition
Submitted by Dean on Wed, 2007-09-26 21:16
I think this has been done before, any of the northerners (southerners can come aswell) want to get together for a Night fish out from mindarie sometime in the future.
not organising anything, just putting it out there.

Well This is what needs to be discussed, we dont mind heading out to the bank or the shelf but not everyone would be up for that, due to size of their boat etc.
I think no mater where we go it needs to be near some sort of structure, whether it be reef, coral bottom, wreck... Though understandably no one want's to give out their prime spots!
the idea would be everyone can anchor up and burley close to each other as spess said and hopefully get onto some good fish.
Would also have to be done on a saturday.
So anyone with suggestions fire away.

Well were easy. Haven't
Haven't really fished that bank or shelf before at night time, so you guys obviously have some experience.
With regards to your previous trips, what sort of catches have you had?
And do you anchor and burley out that far or drift?
Also I would think you would need to be on some sort of deep water reef? for it to hold fish, or can you burley hard and bring them around?
Need some more peoples input, regarding where to fish and how far out they would feel comfortable.

Yeah, sorry kaitan, talking
With regards to heading wide, I think that anchoring and burleying near/behind reef would have better results rather than heading out to the shelf/direction bank.
If we get enough boats and a good burley trail going, i think we are bound to get some action.

Yeah should be good I think
Yeah should be good
I think the new cray season starts of on the 31/10/07, and it would be preferable to go before then so there is no navigating between pots.
Which gives us 2 weeks prior opportunity to get out there, as I have plans for the 6th and 13th of october.
So if this is going to happen we will need to get the ball rolling.

Whats it like leaving your
Whats it like leaving your cars back at the boat ramp after dark. Is it well lit and in view of other people.
I evening fish quite a bit but I have found at Pt Peron the chances of having a window broken and your cd's stolen increase after about 10pm.
