Lost : Fishing mojo

From the looks of things it seems i my have lost my fishing mojo,  last few times out my performance has been average, i think my decky is planning a mutany as we speak esspecially if he has seen some of the catches on here lately.  So my question to you guys is how do you rate the start of the fishing season so far? hope i find my mojo soon or a new GREEN decky

For me there's seasons for certain fish species but not a season to fish ie start/stop. Some of the best fishing was in winter for me ie bottom fishing and pink snapper in close....big schools of dhufish/snapper etc

Mojo

Fri, 2007-10-26 09:39

Mojo comes and goes. For example: The boys came up and fished gamex this year. The skipper cleaned up with 2 marlin and a sailfish for the week and a plethora of bottom fish. Everyone had similar lures out but the fish just decided his were the ones they wanted to chew on whilst the other boys missed out.

They came up again last week and this time the skipper hardly got a fish for the whole trip. Funkybunch on the other side of the boat landed 3 marlin and was catching coral trout and a host of other species with similar baits and lures.

How the fishing mojo works is beyond me, but its a bitch when its gone! Maybe its got something to do with fish karma? LOL. :)

Den i was in a similar

Fri, 2007-10-26 20:12

Den i was in a similar position in july of this year.  I moved to karratha from the point samson area.  I had just been in samson long enough to find some good consistent spots and then i moved.  I had to learn the ground again in a new area and find good spots that would consistantly produce.  It took a bit of time and patience, but as soon as i landed that first stoinker of a red, i was stoked.  Now the barra are here and we are consistantly getting  fish i realise that it is all good.  Hang in there mate, one blinding run and you will be back in the game!
