first trip to the barges

Hey guys i have a 4.8m coast runner and looking at heading out to the west end barges on thursday hoping for someone to do abit of mission with leaving from hillarys bright and early should be a good day any body keen

You would want to be extremely vigilant in terms of the weather out at the barges in a boat that size!!

Steve, my sentiments exactly, but I have seen heaps of 4.8m boats out there.......mine is only 5.4 and I am pretty careful with weather.

Ive got a 4.8m coast runner
Ive got a 4.8m coast runner too and have been out pretty far in it quite a few times. Aslong as u know ur limits weather and skippering wise and head in at any signs of it turning nasty then ull be fine. And if it got that bad then rotto is a lil safe haven to shelter at, could be there for a few days tho if u get it wrong! Just gotta have ur witts about ya. Good luck with the fish dano!

I got it up in jurien a few months ago in 10m of water on pe3, was plenty of them around then.

i think you would be ok but
i think you would be ok but looking at seabreeze i wouldnt leave till 8ish
that strong easterly will make it a bitch getting out early
like others said just watch for the change and leave as soon as you think its changing not just one more fish as im sure many of us do
and we want some pictures
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.
