Buying Flare Kits Online
Submitted by Adam Gallash on Mon, 2017-09-18 09:43
Hi Guys,
Need to buy some new flares for the boat, anyone know where to get them cheap online? Bought some from Adventure sports here in Karratha a few years ago and never opened the packet, just kept them in the boat. Checked them on the weekend as part of the whole boat refurb and turned out they expired in 2009 - got shafted buying off the shelf!
Cheers,
Adam

Better of buying
From shop ,that way you can check exp date prior to purchasing . At least you will get max date out of them.

Postage
Yeh Class 1 explosives if I recall right. Not sure if you can or not, but given the lack of options in Karratha thought i'd investigate.

You can post anything, it
You can post anything, it just has to be packed properly and if it is explosive, it would cost a packet.

Cost a heap to post
I think you will find that the cost of posting pyrotechnic is very high and they would have to come by carrier .
If you buy them over the counter you can quite easily check the expiry date when you purchase them, if the expired ones are in good visual condition keep them just make sure you have the packaging marked as expired.

Ask around
Ask around and see if ya mates are going to perth or somewhere, get a few orders and get them or yourself to bring them up. Always handy when theres specials on fishing gear or liquor shop.

Searano Marine on Facebook posted this morning about flare kits for $100. Manufactured August 2017 so you get the full 3 years...well minus one month.
