Old Moylees Macky

Heres my old mans macky from Sharkbay last week. my old boy on the right is almost 6 foot. We couldnt find scales big enough but bottomed out a 25kg set with half on the ground. we estimate at least 35kg gilled and gutted but could have gone higher. It was caught on a snapper rig with out trace using a whiting head for bait. Bloody miracle for the hook to get stuck in the cheek plate. Nice one Dad. Made for a great trip when you got to strap the fish to the front of the boat cos you cant keep it anywhere.

yes He hasnt been able to
yes He hasnt been able to stop smiling. Bloody old pensioner wanted to save his braid and I was giving him a fair amount of encouragement about playing with sharks. When he worked it up it was massive and a 2 person lift just to get him over the side. Funny part was who was going to get the front half of him as it was pretty dangerous around those teeth. Biggest mack i have ever seen. I am sure he will remind me fairly regularly over a few beers who caught it.

Great fish. Always good to hear a good story to go along with a quality fish. Awesome.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

Awesome fish!
Heading up to Monkey Mia with the fam tomorrow for 4 nights, then Coral Bay, then Exmouth! How was the fishing off Monkey Mia itself? Only going to have a 4.2m tinnie to do some exploring?
Cheers
