Picked up a new Shimano Stradic Fi. Looks and feels great. Really looking forward to testing it out on the weekend. Regards, Colin Hay

Spinning and popping
Spinning & popping mainly Jay. I want to team it up with my new 9 foot Starlo Stix spin rod. I think it might be ideal for tossing unwaited baits out as well. There are a few reefs I have been eyeing off around Perth that I think could be good to hit with the right conditions. I am also planning to go to the Cocos or Christmas Islands (or both) either late this year or early next and also hope to get to Broome mid-year.
What have you been using your 4000 for,
All the best, Colin

Good choice
good choice mate. I am looking at getting the same reel for light jigging and driftbaiting. Was going to get a twinpower but for the money the new stradic is just as good a reel.

It has all the fruit
Will have to see if it lives up to its Shimano billing. I am sure it will.

Pilbara creeks mate, caught threadies up to 112cm, Jewies to 114cm and several barra on it so far and I've been very happy with it. Runnning 30lb off it but I suppose it's more of a 20lb reel. What line class you going to use off the 8k?

Hi Jay
I went for quick spin this morning, nothing around, but I was really impressed how well the 8000 Fi cast and how smooth it feels. I was sending a small Halco Rooster 60 m to 70 m into a pretty stiff wind. Now I a just have look forward to testing the drag on a decent fish.
All the best, keep up the great reports from the Pilbara. It is a great place.
