1) Yes unless u like a bit of a hike with yr gear. Just let tyres down to 20psi, follow worn tracks, take a carton, and a snatch strap and u will be fine. (carton is recovery payment in case u get bogged)

2) Yes, although beach is steep and there are some near shore reefs. Swell forecast is not huge over weekend but there will be a shorey along there. Waves will b about chest high dumpers in unprotected spots. Maybe try Tim's Thickett (further north and more protected by reef) if worried. Should be Ok to baitcast bigger mulies if rod long enough..

3) Sharks, rays, whiting, herring. B & B species mostly.

Cheers Wrass, how much of a walk are we talking? Do many people go there? ie if I get in a spot of bother on the sand will there be people around? Carton is great advice btw...

And is it a firm or boggy beach?

Is the Lux the 2.8l? Let tyres down u will be fine as clearance main issue. I take my Subaru Forester down there and Tims only issue = clearance in areas. U won't have that worry. Heaps of crew go there during day, and some o/n. U can actiutally drive all the way to Preston Bch along there, and from there to Myalup/bunbury if really keen and enough fuel, motivation. Boggy in spots where it narrows and gets steep, but always a dedicated track above the HWM before the foredunes (stay outta here or rangers WILL ping u)

Nah, shoulda mentioned before, it's been modified to a 3.8L Holden motor, prolly out of a VN, on petrol/gas.

Had some problems with the centre bearing, replaced it 3 times over 6 years, the mod makes the tailshaft enter the centre bearing at a slightly steeper angle.

My main concern I guess is the rear tyres only have about 3mm of tread left. I assume having a lot of meat on all 4 tyres would make a huge difference on sand?

Sometime less tread is better on sand, It sits on top and will not dig in the sand

the beach entrance at the moment. Abandon, just take it easy and you will be fine. Look for areas where there is some reef near the beach and fish near there.
Should be good conditions for Mulloway this weekend.

Yep servo in Melros (old Melros not on Bypass) is closest, or just hang in there and drive to Falcon and there's one there. U will be fine. Have fun

 Mate with that 4x4 you will be fine. 20psi is fine but if you get bogged go a little further and youll get out. To inflate the tyres yes the old servo is history, but the caltex about 5ks south has air and I also think Ronnie at Dirt and boondies has some, but ring first. It is on the road to Melros Beach.

There is a nice gutter just infront of Sarich's.

Mate it is easy. Thats where I learnt and it is a pie. Tyres down and dont hoon. I have never been bogged there but I am very careful.

Couple of thing to remember on the beach is if ya start to go down reverse out let ya tyres down a little more. From a standing start on soft sand reverse 5m first then forward.

GO BLUES.

BlueBagger is spot on. The old sand compaction trick works a treat to get started on the real soft stuff. Tight lines and good luck

 Mate when you find a nice gutter, park backwards, then go up and down your escape route a few time to compress the sand. Then even if she blows there is always compact sand on your way out. I do this 3 or 4 times and look like a dill, but sometimes o/nitrs blow your tracks into soft as, nowhere to be seen. Better to know under all that soft sand is compressed terra firma. I always reverse down to the entended spot and it is also good to get all the gear out of the back of the 4X4. I never ever go below the High tide mark.

And i totally agree with Blue Bagger, even if you think you are stuck, dont spin the wheels forward as this digs a mother of a hole, and guess who is going to have to dig a mother of a bigger hole to get you out.  If you have a winch carry an old tyre, bury it deep with the snatchy/cabble attached in front of the car, stomp it down hard and she usually hold to pull you out if your tyres are down.

Happy White Hills but like I have said it was my old stomping ground, only living 5 minutes away in Parkridge (The Bouvard Tavern for Grogg resupply) and it is not as hard as you may think.

Yeah I like to reverse in (but dont usually do it 3-4 times, good idea.) but another thing I do is when turning around is to reverse into the dunes. that way your driving down hill to get onto the track.

You see people that do a big U turn going down below the high tide mark. True most times you can do it no problems, BUT you only need to get stuck once when no one comes past and say good bye to your car.
Not so big an issue is traveling with a mate, but definitely when your solo..

Cheers guys, made it in and out no problemo. Place was chockers with 4WDers/fishos. Only caught a few small whiting unfortunately, but looks like a good spot.

It is also a good spot when the salmon start heading up this way in a few months.
