Preston craft do a really nice boat... From what i have seen at the boat shows and info on the various forums. If it was me and I had the money the would deifinatley be in my short list.

As for the other information  use the search function and look for information on Onslow and mackerel islands.... that might help in regards to set up and fuel tank size.

What sort of price range are you thinking Scotty?  Also, do you want to explore lots, do the islands etc etc?  Billfish troll, head into the creeks, pop etc?

thanks guys for the

thanks guys for the replies,

im currently selling my 35 berty so hopefully looking around the $140-150k mark mate . im looking at fishing the shelf and the rankin etc but that will all come down to learning the area . we mainly marlin fish over here so the tendency will be towards that in this boat anyway. i have to say i dont want to come on here and look like a snob or a yobbo have worked hard to get what we have got as have many of you guys im sure and really just want to get your thoughts on what works well over here. we fish in big seas and crappy wind at times which is a pain but the berty allows us to do this it looks to me that running along way out is going to be the norm so obviously speed is priority !!

what are you guys mainly fishing in in regards to weather ? we have as some would know pretty ordinary conditions and it always seems to be when we have to run 90miles to get home from a comp but genrally its 2m seas and upwards of 15knts of wind  i notice it blows over there a bit also but do you guys still fish or is it even fishable ?

anyway got a thousand questions but i wont bore you guys with them as im sure you have better things to be doing but your answers will be very much appreciated !!

cheers scotty

Marlin grounds are fishable

Marlin grounds are fishable in 35knts of wind off Karratha as I have experienced on a few occasions during comps and a big trailer boat handles it fairly easily... not really my cup of tea though.
