transferring gps spot to new gps
Submitted by Faulkner Family on Thu, 2024-08-22 09:23
With the new boat in our possession I need to transfer all our spots over and delete off spots from the old gps.
Is it as simple as removing the card and putting it in the new one. Never done it myself
Going from axiom 9 to a lowrance

save them as GPX format,
then the Lowrance can load the GPX files and convert to its own format.
LOAD the gpx files on to a separate card !!!! , so you dont damage the original files.

Hey Russ
Your waypoints are not automatically saved to your card - presuming this card is your chart card - they are saved to the unit.
You need to get a new card ( not recommended saving to the chart card as you can corrupt it and kill the charts).
Be aware older units like smaller cards - i find 2Gb is sweet - but hard to get.
Then save as .gpx in the Raymarine and import to the Lowrance. I don't know the procedure for Raymarine but presume google is your friend.
Have both units running side by side and double check. Then factory reset the Raymarine.
Remember to save(export) every 3 to 6 months to the card - or when you get a sweet spot, and then if the unit fails you have a current backup.
Cheers

Does your Axiom have some
Does your Axiom have some form of phone sync (wifi or bluetooth)? if so, I'd expect you can wirelessly transfer the waypoints to your phone. From there you can likely save the points to a file and then either to a card or upload to your Lowrence (assuming it too has wifi sync)
