Salt stains on clears - removal?

Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the salt stains from clears?  Must be somthing out there that removes it. Have tried windex and a 50/50 water & metho mix that have not worked.

easy off bam... otherwise your clears may be weathered (sun damaged) & the stains will be permanent.

It really depends on what your clears are made of?

There are different products for different materials. I have a cleaner, a polish the whole shooting match. Ring someone like Hillarys boat shop and tell them what your clears ar emade of and they shoul dbe able to help.

I use Plexus, was recommended to me by one of the best Trimmers around and works for me. I stock it at my shop but sold out atm!

Yeh Wade, mild soapy water then dry off. After that, spray Plexus on clear in a small area and run in with clean soft cloth then rub off!

Thanks Guys.  I tired the Vinegar and Mr Sheen.  Vinegar worked but was harder to remove than with Mr Sheen.  As Mr Sheen is a lot cheaper than $25 for a can of Plexus I will probably stick to that but may just get 1 can to see if it is any better.  I guess it may be a better protector now the clears are actually clear.

Aircraft windscreens

Tue, 2010-02-02 07:03

Given Plexus is specifically designed to use with plastic aircraft windscreens and actually fills and hides small scratches it MUST be good - I swear by it however I have ONE clear (port side) that has discoloured when all the others remain crystal clear, not subject to bore water overspray or anything else I can identify and the actual clear feels sticky to touch - you would have to believe it was made of a different material.

Like Ryan said the guy who made all our clears recommends Plexus and my experience only reinforces that recommendation - I wash with warm soapy water, dry and then coat with plexus and the bonus is that it works on the screens and repels water like nothing else.
