To run fuel dry after a day out or not to?

Well, I finally got the motor sorted, sprayed some carby cleaner in to carbys. It is now going, thank f###k. What is the best method after running motor to prevent this happening again. Any tips would be appreciated, by the way it is a 2 stroke.

Apparently using Stabil is the way to go, rather running it dry?

the best thing for it is
the best thing for it is regular use
if that cant be done i would run it once a fortnight at a minumn
getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

running your motor dry
is not recommended as it lets the orings in the fuel line dry out!

I usually pull the fuel line
I usually pull the fuel line off (the motor end) when I finish flushing it and let some of the fuel use up so its not sitting in the motor (mainly if I may not be going out for a while again) but turn it off before it runs dry. Haven't had a problem. Also haven't had a problem with old fuel however if the tanks been sitting around a while I top it up with fresh fuel before using it. Absolutely no gunge build up in any of my tanks. I've seen the ads for Stabil but the inside of my tanks are spotlessly clean as compared to the ones on thier ads so won't be wasting my money - cost of fuel is high enough.

I've heard...
that with a 2-stroke you shouldn't let the fuel run dry since it's also what's lubricating your motor (oil mixed in with fuel).

With a pre mix I let run dry,
so it dosent gum up the carby. But when not in use run off the tap regularly( once a week) but with the injected motor I have now I dont bother, (but still run regularly). Have had no dramas doing this!!

stale fuel
1 - if you leave fuel in your tank long enough (approx 3 months) it goes stale. You can tell by smelling it and if it smalls like varnish then its no good. What happins when its stale is its octane is not as high, and then the engine can pre-detinate ( or ping) which results in the air fuel mixture detonating beofre its ment to, and ends up £$"!ing your motor.
2- If you leave te fuel/oil mixture sit in the carbys for ages then the fuel evaportes away. This then leaves the oil sitting in the carbys. This after time then sets and terns into gum/varnish/shit that blocks the small holes etc inside the carbys. As far as im aware this can only be prevented by running it up every once in a while.
