Round 9 - A Tale of Two Harleys
Word is that Freo's recruiters are keeping a close eye on players name Ducati, Suzuki or Honda as it appears they'll be a lot more reliable and dependable than players recently brought into the side.
West Coast are still not playing their best footy but have a few players (Sheed, Duggan, Shepherd etc) starting to hit their straps and are facing an Essendon with their tales up. The key will be to shut down a potential future Brownlow medallist in Zac Merrett and making sure that Daniher doesn't hug any of our players (or kick too many goals). Lecca to kick a bag and West Coast to get up in this on.
Freo should win comfortably although this game last year provided much mirth when the Blues got up and the owen jokes unexpecedly continued on... for another 5 weeks. The biggest question is whether Kawasaki Bennell will be handing out his pearls of wisdom to his 'team mates' during the breaks.
Pies and the Hawks are playing off to see who gets the better draft pick. I'm going for the Pies simply because the Hawks gave up their first pick to the Saints for a bloke they can't even get on the park!

Stratton the biggest loss there IMO, Cyril has been B grade this year and if they need to wrap him in cotton wool until next year then so be it but Stratton is a gun down back....
They bring in Duryea Whitecross Vickory and Brand, all pretty hand replacements i think....
Def a tough round, I reckon with a couple of big ins for Sydney that might be enough....
Ess and WC is a coin toss, Dogs too good for Geelong even down there...
The Roos have brought in some big names also but one of the best up n coming midfields in the comp should get the 4 pts....

I dont give a toss about the other one and couldnt care less if he plays again but Balic looked pretty awsome as a young up n comer.
He's just cost me a trade in SC but more importantly is he all ok or is there strife brewing?

I hope balic is back at freo later this year or next. If that isnt the case (and i dont know how long he is contracted for) i would want freo to do tbe right thing and get him a trade to a vic based club. It would be tragic to see a young talent lost to the game because of club stubbornness.

We are all just speculating. So i take what i read on face value, even if it is the media. The kid needs some time. The club has agreed to that. His talent is highly regarded. I am sure freo will do every reasonable thing they can to retain him. And if that means giving him time away from the game now so he deal with stuff, good on them for supporting him. If it means trading him at season end so he can continuing playing elsewhere, i hope they dont stand in his way.

Pleasing to see Willie Rioli back on the park and kicking 4 straight for East Perth Eagles ressies yesterday. A genuine crumbing forward is one area that really lets West Coast down especially when we resort to bombing it into the forward line under pressure.
Can't be long before Partington gets a crack too after racking up big numbers week in week out. Piss of Masten for good and bring in someone with a bit of heart.

Watched the Crows V Bombers in Adelaide a few weeks ago and Betts is a cut above everyone else - freak as you say. Amazing to see what he does of the ball and the way he positions himself - magic. Im hoping the eags have a crack at Brandon Matera later this year. Have said for a long while - Masto needs to go, there def lining up behind him.
