Well done, I only just stumbled over your pic now, they are definately the demons of the ocean! Don't see a hell of a lot caught in the Pilbara. What is the deal with eating them in the N/W??

As for eating them, I've filletted and eaten some decent west oz red bass and had no worries, the flesh was fine and quite tasty.

They are no take over this
They are no take over this way. Being a Lutjanid they sure fight hard but I reckon a Chinaman would pull them backwards, boy do they fight.

Thanks all Yea good eating as far as im concerned. Taken in 3m of water near the reef on a srip of trav. Got a Chineman about 10minutes later
same spot same bait same size. i'll see if i can find a photo of him and post it later
