Update on PK Boat Ramp
Morning all,
With a bit of time to kill this morning, and there being a slight breeze, I decided to shoot up to the PK Boat Ramp and have a look at how it was progressing.
Lots of bays, and parking for cars without trailers too.
Seperate bays either side of the car park for rig up and de rigging. Didn't notice any infrastructure for wash down facilities on the de rig side, but perhaps it may still be early days yet.
The FRP grating on the finger wharf looks good, as does the grating down the centre of each ramp.
Even though the breeze was only light this morning, I have a feeling that it will become rather messy down there when it does pick up. Even as light as it was this morning, it would create issues.
Hopefully the pics will give you the idea.
cheers

just dhu it

damn that concrete looks a little smooth for a ramp.
Hate to try and pull anything out in a couple of months with a bit of sand weed and moss on that. Recon there could be a few cheap cars up for sale soon...

Weed...
...was down there about two weeks ago and there was a very slimey film of weed/algae right at the edge of the water which I think could cause issues with two-wheel drive vehicles. Also, the jetty seemed rather high for normal trailer boats when I had a look on a medium tide.
Fingers crossed, but I don't think break-ins will be too much of a problem there...one way in, one way out...pretty easy for the vigilantes and/or law enforcement to trap somebody doing the wrong thing in my view. Mind you, they still haven't put in any lights yet!
Doubt there will be washdown facilities...too many hoidy-toidys in the the nearby condos/townhouses who won't want to hear motors being flushed while they sip their chardonnay and nibble at their brie cheese?
Was a nor'easter this morning...not a good direction for this ramp. Wouldn't like a straight easterly too much either. Anything from a southerly quarter would be ok I reckon.

Traction
Maybe just me but i cant see anything for traction down near the waterline. Should be fun haulin out a rig when the concrete is wet & slippery. Apart from that its gotta be betta than the previous one. Rob
