Missed call phone scam

For those that aren't aware, there is a very prevalent phone scam going on at the moment. You will get a missed call from an overseas number--if you are slow off the mark, and call back, you will be put on hold while the phone bill racks up at an incredible rate. Don't blame Telstra or whovever your provider is, this is up to you. It will always be from somewhere unlikely--I've had them from Estonia and a couple of different parts of Cuba; they likely won't be from anywhere you should be getting calls from. So, unless you are scam prone, and think it just may be that Nigerian prince finally getting back to you, just don't bother to ring back. And not even worth blocking the number--unless you actually ring back, they will only try once.

Same happened to me today. Got a missed call from Cuba and thought it’s a strange. Didn’t call back couldn’t be bothered. Figured if it’s important they’ll call again.
Cheers for the heads up.

No matter the circumstances...
...you can't go wrong, blaming Telstra!
I blame them for everything: Dodgy shopping trolley wheels, reality TV, the toast always landing butter side down...
It's un-Australian to NOT blame Telstra.

Reverse Australia reverse phone number lookup
Guys, handy tip --> There's a website that lets you type in a phone number and see who it is and if others have been receiving scam/nuisance call from the same number. Saves you from calling the number back and getting scammed/charged money.
It's called Reverse Australia. Not sure if allowed to post links in here but you will find it easy with google if you search Reverse Australia. I just block the numbers on my mobile if they turn out to be nuisance/scam callers.
Hope this help some of you guys out.
