Really, first time I’ve seen it, it must have fallen back and he’s brought back to the top.

I thought the same when I spoke to the guy about the project boat. Thought it was a bit over priced

An idiot like me would love
An idiot like me would love to contemplate putting an offer on it. What do you reckon fellas is a fair offer on this? No way is that trailer worth $7500 maybe 2k at best. I was thinking throw 5k at him as an offer.

mate you are in the box seat
mate you are in the box seat to add some value to something like this - and as far as offering 5k - I think its worth nothing to anyone as is except people with our skills (and time)!
how about I offer him 4, then when you go in at 5 it wont look so bad :-)

Bottom plate
the bottom plate is only 5mm. I would have expected that size vessel to have 6 mm. , forget the trailer. Draw bar is to long for final vessel weight and would struggle to pass pit test , also I would want to know who did the hull welding to give me peace of mind. IMO

I'm looking at the photos
I'm looking at the photos and it looks like it's only tacked, hard to tell. But I'd go over it with a fine tooth comb, been welding for over 30 years
5 mm is fine as there's plenty of ribs, and it keeps the weight down. I would say he's bought that in flat pack form so it would be properly engineered.

I looked into this 6 months
I looked into this 6 months ago it was started by a boat builder then this guy bought it as a project and never got around to doing it. Think he said bottom is welded

The way the add reads and that the hull
Is assembled which the picture seems to support as I think you will find the hull plating is only stitched. But the ribs are welded whether this means that they are fully welded or stitch in also is any ones guess.
From the picture I think you would be able to inspect it and get a pretty good idea how good the welding is...or isn't.
It would be a good winter project for some one.

I reckon if you were buying
I reckon if you were buying it as a welder, it woulkd be MUCH better if the think was only tacked. That way you get to do the welding yourself and then you know the welds are good and not full of holes etc.

stringers definitely look
stringers definitely look like they are tacked. Want to get the transom on and dumpy out off waterline before welding too much dont want a bannana. Trailer looks good for moving that's about it not really towing.
rather be fishing

Andy
Andy ,
if i could finish that myself and get it for 5-6k id be all over it , your time plus 20k for a low hour secondhand 225-250 4 stroke , 5k for wiring/combo unit , and 10k for a paintjob (shop around or if youve the skills save the money and do it yourself) and youve made money , the guts of the trailer is there (enough for you to make something of it) . 40k in and its a pretty well brand new boat worth 70-80k ? thats my rough sums anyway.

Yeah a lot of it I could do myself, just the wiring, motor install etc It's very tempting.
