Lithium battery info from Club Marine

Interesting article from Club Marine on lithium batteries in boats.
They take a surprisingly pragmatic view especially and mainly with lifepo4 chemistry.
“ The latter, also known as LiFePO4, is the go-to for marine house battery installations. They suit deep-cycle usage but, more importantly, studies have shown that the chemical composition is less prone to overheating and won’t self-ignite or self-combust if there’s a failure”

Interesting article.I would
Interesting article.
I would love a lithium house battery but as we just turn on both batteries all the time, Sukuki currently say they are unsuitable thus i stick with the heavy ones.
I have a LiFePo in the car and it is fantastic.

Ive been running dual
Ive been running dual Lithiums for the last 3 years on my Suki 140 with no issues at all.
Only benefits..
Removed 40kg of lead and added a pie warmer,Drum winch and fridge.
Only way to go.
Lead acid in boats is a waste of ya dollars if you want reliable power supplys.

Do you use them as crank
Do you use them as crank batteries? How have you wired them (e.g. charge controller?) so they receive the right charge profile?

Yes been designed for LCA
Yes been designed for LCA (Lithium cranking Amps)
I run 2 of 75amp hour for a total of 150 with them in parallel.
Bluetooth BMS so can check all charge states even from the car on the way to the ramp. They get charged direct from the suki thru the own BMS
Best thing is 11kg each.

Is your motor still under
Is your motor still under warranty?
That is the only thing holding me back from messing around with it.
