Line Twist Remover

Any of the local stores stock the line twist remover? basically the sinker with a groove cut out of it.

Cheers

I am trying to envisage what you are referring to without success?  By the lack of responses maybe others are having the same problem.  Can you provide any further information.

Well for quite a while now i

Well for quite a while now i been fishing and wondering why braid line and mono twist up after a while especially with braid lines where it shortens the life of the braid by fraying and causing wind knots when there is excess twist in the line, this drove me mad searching on the net, but finally found what i was looking for from carp fishing forums.

heres it in action with mono.

Line twist

Well I have never seen one of those before.  One of the causes of line twist is winding the reel handle without actually recovering line.  I've seen a number of people who continue to wind when they are not recovering line and even when the fish is taking line.  This just increases the twisting.  A good lift and wind technique will help.

But not for someone land based

as I think Dicey mostly is.  A bridge with current will suffice for a boat.

Good thinking there Alan, as long as there's no traffic on the water.

 i actually tried that thing

i actually tried that thing under the bridge with the current, that is a really dumb idea lol, its too slow and if you let too much out it becomes a big giant birds nest, that invention isnt just for mono but good for the braid after each session of spinning lures etc just hook it on and use it, will make your braid last longer thats for sure.

Tue, 2011-01-18 12:58

every couple of trips u can walk out 100mtrs of line with no terminal tackle and wind it back on firm thru yr fingers

works well for alveys.........also use a good swivel and the lightest possible for the line class in use
