Latest internet scammers

Guys,

I have had several customers  get hit by this scam most realised it quicky once they asked for $300 to fix their problems and contacted myself so were warned away, however this scam is currently doing the rounds and is not a nice thing here is what they do:

1.They claim to be from Microsoft or from the "mark's" ISP.

2.They prey on the less computer savvy people they cold call with made up scare stories about viruses.
3. They take money for illegally pirated copies of Windows 7.
4. With the mark's assistance over the 'phone, they take remote control of the mark's computer.
5. They take money for non-existent PC "support" services.
6. Once they have successfully scammed a mark, they will keep calling back, again and again, presumably with a view to obtaining more personal information, or extracting more money for further illegal goods and fictitious services.
7. They are based in India - judging by the accents, No doubt the personal information they use is stolen from Indian call-centre.
8. These "people" are thieves and con-artists, with absolutely no consciences.

Bastards thats all I can say

Twice

Fri, 2010-11-26 16:05

About 2 hour before this thread was started I got a call on the home phone about the same thing and promptly delivered a mouth and a half full of abuse untill she hung up. Bugger me dead an hour later if I didn't get some bloke calling me on my mobile for the same thing and the f@#$%^%$#g idiot didn't hang up and copped both barrels and a bit more after a reload trying to tell me there was a virus in my computer.

If I could have got my hands on the slimy little mongrel I'd give him a job==pulling my computer  out of his a#$e

What I'd like to know is how they got not just the home number but the mobile as well.

His and her grand children are going to be deaf in one ear from the earfull of abuse I gave them, they won't call me again you can guarantee that.

Scooter scam

Mon, 2010-11-29 09:34

I am selling a scooter on scooter sales and have had 4 different people send text messages asking me to email them. They then say that they are overseas and due to the nature of there work they can't be here. They then want you to send them a pay pal invoice and they will have the scooter picked up by courier.
These people will send a fake letter from paypalsaying the money is in your account and take the scooter.
