heavy surf/rock reel

i am looking at getting a heavy surf/rock reel that i can use for sharks and rays and the like becuase i have finally been pressured out of an alvey by fishoreub.im looking at the rovex big boss 9500 mainly becasue its well within my budget and flangies one felt really nice and balanced. what are your suggestions? im lookingat a budget of 200 bucks and i would like a large spool capacity capable of handling 30lb braid and lotsa drag pressure.

Have a scout around you
Have a scout around you might be able to pick up one of the old moldel 14000 spheros for that and it would be a better reel,my nephew uses one of those for rock fishing down south and has not had any problems

The Rovex is not a bad reel. Then there's the Daiwa Opus Bull, Banax Si 7000, Shimano Spheros, Baitrunner BTR

Yep Spheros 14000FA is a great option. Pretty much spot on $200, lots better than the big boss imo.

Ya made the decision a week late.
There was a 14000FA never been used with the drag and bearing upgrade, loaded with braid sold here for just over $200 last week. Nearly bought it myself but am going to get a saragosa. Campbells have got one for $199 on there web site. Personally off the rocks I would be tempted to stick with alvey and mono if your fishing the bottom.

i use braid off the rocks
i use braid off the rocks all the time and never have a problem
but its cos im careful for the rockss as i know what it can do
hes told me hes got his eye on the daiwa emcast plus.....has anyone tried these
i love my opus bull honsu
i remember ppl saying the braid gets stuck in the roller but i use 30lb braid and ive never had that problem.
