Hearty Rise Sylphy - 30lb????
Submitted by bradz on Wed, 2011-04-27 21:37
Hi guys
I have gotten my hands on a HR Sylphy. It is the older model HRMB6051MH-FT. 1.95 long suited for jigs weighted 20 to 80gram.
I intend using it for light demersal jigging and soft plastics. My question is can I run 30lb Tuf Line XP through it or is the rod really suited to 20lb.
I will be using a 4000 size daiwa on it.
Cheers
Brad

sounds a bit heavy to me. i run 30lb on my jig force rated for 120g
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Have you checked what it says on the rod? My dad has a Sylphy and it says PE2-3.

I have looked on the rod but it doesn't give a line rating.

Not sure on that model but I
Not sure on that model but I have the newer version that is rated 20g - 80g and can take PE 2 -3.
I run 20lb on mine with a certate 3000 and its more than enough to stop large southern demersals.
