Awsome Sambo Session Today

Hi guys Ive been reading about the shark problem when sambo fishing on this forum and was a bit concerned about going out today with Shikari Charters. How wrong was I !!! We set off from freo at 6am to Als secret secret spots and within minutes we were hooked up and landing sambos with only one sharking all day. I just wanted to tell all that if you want to do sambo jigging this is the man to see, hands down the best charter Íve ever been on with good company, good crew and a top fella thanks Al.

Al really is the sambo
Al really is the sambo whisperer. A lot of the other charters will trot you around the barges, a few will even tell you stupid lies about how they're just really big sambos when they're on sharks, but Al can usually find a few.

but he certainly doesnt care how close he comes to boats! we were fishing the derwent last thursday for demersals and he pulled up about five metres from us in our drifting line and dropped lines! then had the cheek to ask if we were wearing skirts as we were using diawa seaborg 1000 reels! sure shut him up when my deckie bought aboard a 49kg wobblygong! I think if your going to fish the same ground at least get behind there drift zone not right on top of us!!

Al out on the derwent
Was there any sambos.
Out on a certain drop off in 180 meters is loaded with sambos at the moment. Pain in the butt when your dropping a double paternoster for snapper and reds and hook up a double of sambos.
Even had a triple as each dropper is a snell.. That wasn't much fun reeling in 3 x 20kg+ sambos at the same time with 200 meters of line out.
Never lost a fish to sharks but did have one 5 footer come in for a bite when we had one sambo along side.. Smacked him hard with the net when it was inches from biting down and it took off..
Twin turbo..V8 diesel..Ohh what a feeling!!

day!! was very quiet we got the wobby a queenie and a nice pinky! and yes the wobby tasted good done thai style in fish cakes!

Have had the same problem with Al Beaven on Shikari charters what an arrogant areshole he is out wide while chasing sambos! No need to get so close too other boats weather you have paying passengers or weather you think you own the whole friggin ocean. On more than one acasion I have had too drive off while fighting a fish so his heap of shit hasn't hit my boat, other times hes been that close his customers jigs are showing 5mt bellow my boat on the sounder.
Wasn't that long ago that people on this site were bagging others for not agreeing with people using electric reels, now if you use one you wear a skirt. Follow your leaders do what they do and walk around with your head up the arse in front of you!

electric reels ruins the fun
electric reels ruins the fun of fighting the fish, So why take the fun out of wrestling the fish with the electric reel.
Can see why an electric reel would be useful if your not that keen on fishing and just want a feed. Just plain lazy and no fun.
Just my opinion I'm sure most of you would agree.

have you ever fished
in 450 metres with a 2kilo sinker two whole large mullet hanging off it?? try pulling that up all day! and how is it lazy you dont just put the rod in the holder you still have to fight the fish! the only thing you dont do is turn the handle! the fish still runs you still pump the fish up!
