hds sounder

I have installed the new hds10, it is a great little unit. a questoin for the guys that use them, have you had a problem with the sounder not reading in water below 1-1.5m I wass using the 50khz setting and only traveling at about 5 knots.
with the unit in deeper water it worked really well, I could see the bottom at about 30knts, much better than the old unit. i havent changed the settings from factory except the sensitivity down abit to reduce the clutter.

Swap settings
Could br wrong but you should be using 200hz in shallow water and 50 in deeper water.

my 10 does the same, you need to change the setting to shallow water if you using it in the shallows, all the time.
and i only ever use the 200khz
i dont turn mine on until i am under way, away from the ramp.
it seems to work better in manual mode as well.

i dont have the 10, but yep,
i dont have the 10, but yep, have the same issue with shallow water.... but agree, get some depth and they are great!

Got 2 10in ones in my Rig and they work sweet, got the broardband radar and and the structure scan also which is great setup for finding dive sites.
