Daiwa 2500da - salt water dunking
Submitted by sarcasm0 on Wed, 2011-04-06 17:42
While out on a kayak today I managed to roll on entry through the beach break on the back of penguin island and dunked all my gear. Question is about the reel, is there any maintenance I should be doing? Normally after a day out on the boat with spray I just give them a gentle rinse in fresh water, and dry off.
I was thinking I should take the spool/handle off the body and leave to dry out tomorrow as a start.

I took my torium for a swim
I took my torium for a swim quite often wading out to sandbanks over summer, I would rinse it down take the spool out n let it dry after the session. Then every few weeks strip it completely clean and regrease it.
Unless its waterproof Id say a service sometime soon may be a good idea.
