Not fishing, sorry, but can anyone explain to me why Smith & Warner are taking their cricket gear to the UAE ???
I didnt know they had proven themselves playing at the top of their games yet.
Both have had a below average time in the middle lately.
To think that someone that is playing well & gelled into the team will miss out because Aussie cricket is a "Boys Club".
I thought Justin Langer was better than that.
IOM they both should have been stripped of their Baggy Greens.......

Bancroft has shown more form than those 2 put together. Marsh is the only baggage the aussies have but it is a club for mates so probably will stay in there aswell.
Havent had a lot of time for cricket this year and not likely to in the near future either.

I also just use Latest Content, but to actually post you have to select a section, it doesnt do it at random.
Not a huge deal except when (say) you only want to look at peoples trips etc so go to that section.

I dont really think its fair to attack a prolific contributor to the forum like Ranmar in this way.
Different maybe if it was someone who never actually produces content here, but Ranmar would be amongst the top few contributors for quality content and Fishwrecked would be way poorer
without him here, and I'd be astonished if anyone disagreed with that.
That alone I think at least gives him some leeway to have a say.
My personal opinion, I agree with what he says in so far as while I mainly use "Latest Content" also, at times I'll go into say Holidays and Trips and it'd be shit if it was half full of cricket and footy.
Whats so hard about putting it in the correct forum, and doing it deliberately would seem to be somewhat churlish.
Most of us that have been here long term will have seen at times "what ever happened to such and such", and when you go back to their last posts it has been something like this directed at them.

Fishwrecked has never been the type of site that is hard on posters if they post in the wrong forum. Wander down and have a read in the general discussion forum and you will see that, but it is a good local site where in general most people accept that and don't worry too much. Well back to the cricket
Neither got a start in the last two games against India which was a good call i think. But they both need a chance to play agaianst good/quality bolwers before the world cup starts.
Got to test all players which make up the full squad prior to settling in a the starting line up.

Smith and Warner are in the UAE simply for a catch up with the Australian team, nothing more. They're on the way to IPL to get some cricket under their belts. If their form is good enough then they will get a run in the World Cup, if not, then they won't. They got a big penalty and have (almost) done their time, I think that we all just need to relax.

Good win by the Aussies. Finch and Ussy in sparkling form, Maxie slaying it down the order, Carey in good touch as the anchor and Warner brutilising the IPL. I think Smarsh is going to make way with Ussy dropping down to 3 and it'll become a tussle between Handscom and Smith in the leadup matches and early pool matches.
