Couldn't pass it up--Pics added
Had the twin 60hp merc 2 strokes serviced today before the annual Ningaloo trip. Haven't had this boat long, it's a Swiftcraft Dominator Mk11, one owner since new, lived next door to me all its life. Really well looked after by a conscientious owner , repowered about 1995. I've been catching up on small age related problems, such as wiring , canopy, and upgrading the electronics in a modest way, as well as converting the trailer to tandem, it was well underweight for the boat. Anyway, went to pick the boat up, all done, yep she's good, good compression all round, everything healthy, mention I'll probably keep them for a few years before I upgrade to a (probably s/h) 4 stroke. Express a preference for 115Hp, Yamaha F115 seems like a good bet--" what about that one?" says the mechanic. I see one sitting on a stand, apparently just traded on a new Suzuki. 2007 model, 1300 hrs, just serviced, new injectors, all diagnostics good. Excellent trade offered on the Mercs (well, there were two of them), drive away price was just too good to pass up. peanuts.
So I will have it fitted by the end of next week.

you will love the F115
you will love the F115 (assuming there are no issues of course)
The hours wont worry it all, except that 2000hrs seems to be a fairly common gearbox lifespan across any brand.
4 strokes are the ducks nuts and the F115 is one of the longest serving and most proven designs around

The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.

nice set up. You won't regret a four stroke. Hope it puts you on some nice fish.

Nice
My F115 has 1700hrs on it, just pyt a new oil pump in it myself as it was leakin, runs faultlessly. I trust it that much, I was 20mile out solo on Sat haha
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Swifty D's are a great boat
Swifty D's are a great boat too - very well regarded in our SA conditions (windy almost all year). will go great with the Yammy - expect your range to double and fuel bill to halve

Finally picked it up
Last night. Very tidy installation, didn't get chance to get it in the water until this afternoon for a quck sea trial. Saw 6000 prm and 34 kts in the river before i ran out of room, have to be happy with that. It has the full set of 6Y8 gauges, so i have fuel flow, econ, everything. Went to sea briefly, certainly nice and quiet, fuel flow figures look good. Pics to follow.

getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

Given it a good workout
Just back from 5 weeks at Ningaloo. Motor has been pretty flawless, less than ideal weather restricted us a bit but have done 85 hours, almost ready for next service. Used nil oil, very good fuel flow figures usually 2.1 to 2.3 km/litre @ around 20 kts/3900-4100 rpm. if you are below 2km/l you are pushing hard in very average conditions and not planing. Trolling is brilliant compared to the old 90hp yammie, 2.3 km/l @ 2200rpm, the old girl (on a lighter boat), was between 15 and 17 l/hr @ the 6 or 7 knots needed for sails. Mackerel trolling speed is even better.
There are a few minor things I would like them to look at when it is serviced, but, overall, very happy. It even survived being bitten by a big bronzie (see Videos section)
