Broome Absolute Ocean Charters

Hello all,

Heading to Broome tomorrow morning for the long weekend and last years birthday present, and I think we might be going on a charter with Mik and Kelly on Sunday morning.

Had a bit of a search and saw sp's can be successful at Broome, but as its my first trip was seeking some advice.

Have any of you who have been with them before out of Broome got any idea what depths you were fishing? Im not going to take any of my own gear on the plane, but was thinking of chucking in some mcarthy soft plastics and some jig heads in.

I have a pack of 6" pearl paddletails, 6" chartruese/pearl paddletails, 6" pink/pearl paddletails, some 5" gulp nuclear chicken shads.

I have 1oz, 2oz and 3oz jig heads.  Will these be sufficient for the depths and am I on target with the soft plastics or do I need some bigger ones? I was also thinking about baby elf, lumo or pumpkinseed colors also.

Cheers,

Bryan

I went out with them from Mandurah in feb 2010 got a 20+kg Dhuie :D I agree top team and charter operators, and as I told them before, they inspired me to go to tafe and do my Marine Tourism studies which is giving me the sea certificates to get into their industry.  I just hope to do half as well as those crew after getting experience for a few years.

Did you just use their baits? Or did you have your own gear, jigs and sp's?

Im liking the forecast winds in Broome for sunday morning, not so sure on the rain!
