Bluewater Classic F18's... how do these go?

Hey guys, looking at getting a few of these for my trip up north to mix it up abit from the Laser pro's and xraps. Just wondering how they go and if anyone has had any success (if so, colours etc) Iv heard some good reports on these for mackies.. so maybe worth chucking a few in the tackle box.

Seem to popular in NT. I used one and it didnt swim straight, or even that fast (despite the claims) so I just swapped it out for an xrap instead. Perhaps if tunned a bit better it might go alright, but havent bothered yet.
For cheaper lures, theres one yozuri/yamaria make that are pretty damn similar to an xrap. I forget the name off the top of my head, but a bit cheaper than the xraps but very similar construction and in general they make good gear. Swim well and nice holographic/translucent effect body. Seem to swim pretty well. Deeper divers than the bluewaters I would assume (its basically an xrap :P)

Put a brand new laser pro in recently
That didn't swim straight either ( was surprised ) but goes to show even popular brands occasionally don't perform, can't hurt to give those lures a go if the price is right mate.

I used them for Macks a fair
I used them for Macks a fair bit when I lived in Darwin. Chrome pink and silver went very well.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

I've used them
off Broome and we used to get macks on them. But as a few have already said you get the odd one that is a dud and doesn't swim straight.
Personally i'm happy to stick with Halco and Rapala.

Cheers for the info guys. Sorry if this is a silly question but what kind of "tweaking" can be done to the lures to improve them. Kinda new to trolling. :)

Patty, out of the packet the Halco 190XDD "at higher speeds" doesnt always track straight so you need to tweek the nose ring to the opposite direction to they way its swimming so it ends up tracking straight at higher speeds.

And take the middle treble off helps it go a bit quicker too.

Mate i have tried the F18's
And personally didnt like them. I bought 2, a greenish mack pattern and a blue sardine pattern. I found the bib was very stepp, narrow and triangular, and they kept breaking out on the troll.
However i did score a mackie or 2 on one (cant remember which) but after a few screams at the lures not swimming well gave up, and I think they are still in the lure box (with rusted up Trebles). Reverted to my favourite halcos and I also love the R2S lures (Triho etc).

Personally, I am very fond of these lures. Have caught macks, wahoo and coronation trout on the gold one pictured in my profile pic. Was tracking badly last time I used it off Perth, but it has done its job and deserves to retire!
