It's a 26' Keywest with 2 x 140 Johnson 4 strokes. Top speed is 38 knots; at 26 knots it chews 42 litres per hour. I originally had a 250 hp Yamaha 2 stroke; that blew to bits at 320 hrs and 12 miles off Mindarie one Friday night, had to drag the Whitfords rescue out of the pub at 9 pm to come get us. I later discovered that big v6 2 stroke Yamahas are renown for braking cranks and seizing pistons. Yamaha wouldnt help in any way, which pissed me of considerably, they wouldnt even give me parts at cost. After a bit of serching on the net I discovered an Australian action group made up of unfortunates like me who also had blown v6's (Sydney water taxis was 1). They were taking on Yamaha. Anyway I decided to f%#@k Yamaha an went for these motors; they are Suzuki 4 strokes re-badged as Johnno's; about the same price and identical in every way. This is the second set I have had; the first ones were wiped out when a truck load of sand slammed into the back of me and pushed the boat onto the roof of my cruiser. Theres a story for ya's.
