Pt Peron Beach Launch
Submitted by Tim on Sat, 2009-09-12 15:43
Anyone thinking of going down to the Point Peron ramp should be prepared for a beach launch atm.
All this swell and surge has dumped tonnes of sand on the ramps.
Might have to remove the sign as not much chance of fishing of the jetty atm.
Crappy phone pic. Sorry.

Shallow
Other ones not that bad but looks shallow.

the groyne creates the problem. coastal dynamics and longshore drift dictates it. accretion one side, erosion on the other...duh

at least with the rock wall
at least with the rock wall there you dont have the swell interfeering when you try to launch but that ramp has always had sand on it it tends to get used by the smaller boats more than the big ones

End of spring
They dont normally clear it until the end of spring once theyre sure the big storms and swell have stopped, one year i think it was the end of november before they cleared it.
