New canopy and clears on the traily

Hi there! Got myself a new canopy and clears today at Just Covers in Balcatta. No more crusty salty sunglasses anymore. Just wondering, what everyone on here does with there canopys when there travelling to the ramp. Do you open the little peep holes in the clears, or should i leave them down when travelling?? Cheers

you can purchase silicone spray cans
from most auto shops/hardware shops.
use it on all my zips for my car canopy/tents etc
don't have a canopy or clears on my boat as its a centre console with folding screen but last trip to Exi in my mates tralie with extended canopy was a real bastard to get the clears off as he had never maintained the zips........
the spray is cheap and well worth the effort

except for the side clears
except for the side clears my canopy is very similar......if you are travelling at no more than 70km/h and the ramp is under about 5-10kms away i would leave it up with the clears open.
at the end of each trip i give them a thorough wash with clear water and drop the canopy down. Mr sheen or soapy water cleans the clears, looks the goods mate..nice job!
The Kimberley....perfect one day and more perfect the next!!!

looks good
looks very similar to my setup, to and from ramps i leave mine either open or closed. The way i see it ur only gona be doing an extra 10 or 15km/h faster driving to the ramp then what ull be doing on the water. As PJAY said tho, long trips or faster then 70km/h and id take them down, bimini aswell. You'll enjoy a much dryer ride now!

That looks awesome!
Looks good mate. How big is your boat. My Dad has a 5.3m Trailcraft and I am sick of the canopy on it. It is just not practical. But yours looks really good. How much did it cost you? If you don't mind?

I generally drop mine down
I generally drop mine down but I have to drive a bit further to get to the ramp from where I am. I lay mine back down on the side and strap it down with a tie down strap.
just dhu it

drop down
Wade , the rig looks good now, i take my clears and binimi down on long trips , they caost to much and create to much wind resistance on the freeway etc, yep agre with the silcon spray and Mr sheen, also if you take them of either roll the up or lay flat , dont fold
