Nice from that spot, I used to watch heaps of ppl walking that stretch throwing lures,(myself included) but gee's unfortunately I had to take people diving on the pier instead..
Funny that you ask that Honsu, they actually changed it to 100m because of you last time you were up here! Didn't take long to get around town... 400m for boats Dean.
Adam's about 150m off it there and they quite often move from the pylons to chase mullet etc and surf the shore break. But the big bad boys are on the pylons and they know exactly where to bust you off (not that I know anything about that, hey KC!!)
yeh we pulled a few fish where we were. right inline with the pole :) they say its 100m but i reakon its further. no way u could cast anywhere near the pillons. just hit it on the rite tides.
They are not in big packs, just threes and fours. They seem to be patrolling regular beats around certain areas.
Biggest one I saw actually spooked me a bit when it appeared out of some murky gloom. He was probably 25-30kg, hard to tell underwater though, and there was a couple of smaller fish (15-20) and an 8 foot grey nurse trailing after him. On the prowl I'd say.
