It was in the work boat and was bycatch, can't say I'd go billfishing in an inflatable otherwise.
I reckon he would have been about 30 Jeffro. Was good to watch as he went nuts and it was hard work keeping him off the fad.

great fish adam, what happens when they spear the inflatable, is it quick trip home, pretty heavy moment i,m sure, but a great fish as well, damm ur getting into some awesome fish mate, especially if thats bycatch lol, well done mate,

Yeh the inflatable has 7 different sections within it, so if you damage one you still have the other 6 to get home with. Luckily this fish just missed the other side of the boat on the way in, but when he came in to be released the second time he gave 2 kicks and powered into the boat. It was a quick release and dash back to the ramp just incase any of the other sections gave way. Its been a bitch to fix the hole as the temperature changes the pressure in the boat changes and warps the patch. Having said that, the weather has been shit up here for 2 weeks so it doesn't really matter at the moment. Feel sorry for those poor people up here wanting to fish!
