XR6 Turbo sleeper
Owning a Ford speed shop I decided to beef up the XR6 Turbo for the missus. I had already changed the exhaust and given it a basic tune just to have some fun in but this time I got a bit carried away. We have closed for a Christmas break so now was the time. Ended up changing the turbo control actuator, 60lb fuel injectors (originals 33lb), stage 4 hybrid clutch. Raised the boost from 6 psi stock to 13 psi and did a full custom tune. Power figures saw a healthly yet reliable 415 rwhp with 800 NM torque. Also fitted a Ripshifter with 20% reduction to standard shift. The car has a great feel and averages better fuel economy at 14L/per 100. Funny thing with this is watching the blokes get beaten by a female. I just sit as a passenger and laugh at there let down faces after she whips their a#@es.

The XR Turbos are good for
The XR Turbos are good for 15 psi max anything higher than that and your looking for a conrod out the side of the block. As its an everyday driver Im happy to leave the boost at 13psi, any more and I will change the springs out.

Hi Ya,
Got a mate running a WRX with 30lb boost. Built the car for gymkhana racing but is street registered. To look at doesn't appear anything special. Did it that way so as not to attract attention. A mate of his has one runnng higher boost (think he said 35lb). From entry onto start finish straight at Barbagelo this thing is doing 220+km by the finish line.
This thing is also street registered.
Cheers.

Changed out the intercooler
Changed out the intercooler with a Typhoon intercooler and put a better cat convertor on the missus turbo then did a retune and got the power upto a healthy 490RWHP at 15 psi with 900NM Torque.
Beautiful car to drive.
