hey guys, me and the step dad are headed to woodmands point for some shark fishing i heard about a shark sighting at the boat ramp i was wondering if it was true might chuck out a balloon out or something see what happens , thanks :)

it was about 8-10 i seen the helicopter and everything guys were ballooning out and talkign about there mates seeing the shark at the jetty or close to the ramp

Shovelnose shark
I was on the other side of the break wall at woodies in about 2m of water fishing for squid a couple of days ago and a huge shovelnose swam under us at some serious speed, we must have scared it. It would have been 3 metres long.

yeh we are going down at 8:30 and staying till 3 hopefully most people should be gone by then and i can get a spot maby chuck a tailor on

people were taking up the end that was good for ballooning they got lkek 3 runs pretty decent one too

i think thats why i have never gotten into ballooning, pretty limited in terms of spots/conditions and also seem to miss a heap of hookups, or maybe thats just me not doing it right?
Have never fished woodies as I keep hearing about trouble/idiots there. Is there anywhere to secure a rod holder, like maybe strap it onto something? not necessary on the ballooning side but where i could slide a bait deep then sit back with the rod in the holder? Also, if you manage to get a shark to the side of the jetty what are the chances of being able to walk it down to the shore and land it there instead of gaffing it?

yea the blue macks are
yea the blue macks are getting pretty hammered by crabs. what i try and do is get some squid cut them open so they are like sheets and wrap them around the macks then secure with bait string. seem to last a bit longer that way.
