Windy Harbour Easter Salmon

went down to windy harbour for the easter break.

I had forgotten how nice the place could be (when its not blowing its ring out.....!).

did all our fishing over the other side of the small peninsula, at salmon beach. its heaps more protected from the southerly around that side, plus a much nicer beach.

heres a few pics of some of the salmon we got. all fish were on 6kg line, all on halco twistys, and were a great fight. the missus took about 10 minutes to bring hers in, but she fought it like a pro.

A great looking spot that Salmom Beach. The conditions certainly look a lot better than when we were down there a few weeks ago.

just a classic beach fishing photo.

They are a great catch, they certainly make you earn it, particularly on 6kg.

yeah there actually wasnt that many gutters or holes there this trip.

it was more productive to get out past the breakers, but that was about 50 - 60 metres so a good cast and the halco twistys was the best option.

most fish were within 10m of the lure hitting the water, so they already had a 100m head start!
